Credit balance not updated following "topped off" notification

I received a notification stating that my Azure credits were topped off, and while my expiration date has extended, my available credit balance has not updated. Could you clarify why the new amount isn't reflecting yet, and let me know if any action is required on my end to apply or activate the remaining balance?

I think as I mentioned earlier, the credit didn’t actually increase — Founders Hub just extended the grant period. The actual credit amount only shows up under the billing account that’s linked to that Founders Hub subscription. Azure Portal → Cost Management and Billing → that billing account → Azure credits.

Thanks for the update. In the Azure Portal, topped off is often just an extension, not actual added credits. Check your Founders Hub benefits to see whether it shows extended only or added. Only added credits appear under the correct billing account’s Azure credits.

I’ve emailed the support team and they told me that the transition from $5,000 to $25,000 would be automatic, I checked the requirements and it was to use 5+ workflows for 60 days and I did that. Are you Microsoft employee or have you received the $25,000 in credits?

I’m not a Microsoft employee, just a volunteer answerer. I’m explaining the usual Founders Hub behavior, not a personal $25k case. Topped off is often just an extension. Credits appear only when it says added, not extended. The $5k→$25k upgrade is automatic, not instant.

Founders Hub usually needs some processing time before the new credit amount appears under the billing account.

Yea I experienced that. With the transition from $1,000 to $5,000 my approval and timeline extension happened over a month before I actually received the credits. Thats why I’m assuming it’s the same thing this time. Thanks for the help

Thanks, that matches FH behavior. Approval and extension come first, credits follow later. This case is likely the same pattern.

If the expiration date extended but the available balance did not change, the most likely causes supported here are:

The new credits still need activation in the startup portal.
- In the Founders Hub portal, check the Home page for Activate Azure Account and complete the activation flow.
- If the top-off was granted but not activated, the balance might not appear in the expected place yet.
The balance update can take time to appear.
- Startup credit updates can take up to 24 hours to fully update after account creation or activation-related changes.
- In similar startup credit cases, the balance may also appear in the Azure Sponsorships portal before it appears in the Founders Hub portal.
The balance might be visible under a different billing view.
- In the Azure portal, go to Cost Management + Billing.
- Select the correct billing account or billing profile.
- Then go to Billing > Payment methods > Azure credits.
- If Azure credits do not appear, the wrong billing scope may be selected.

What to do now:

In Founders Hub, confirm that Activate Azure Account has been completed.
Wait up to 24 hours for the balance to refresh.
Check the balance in both places:
