In Microsoft Bookings, how do you update the meeting location? Customer never gets updated.

Here's the routine of what happens and where it goes wrong:

  1. Business has a shared booking calendar, where customers can set up 1:1 meeting with Staffer.
  2. There's no default location.
  3. Customer books 1:1 meeting with Staffer.
  4. When the Administrator updates the Location, it never updates on the Customer's end. It seems to update on the Staffer's own calendar, but it never updates on the Customer's calendar. Is this just a flaw with Microsoft Bookings, or is there a way to do this right?

    Dear DBook10,

Based on the workflow you've described, it appears that changes made to the Location field after the initial booking may not be automatically reflected in the customer's existing calendar item. The staff member's calendar can show the updated information while the customer's invitation remains unchanged.

I performed further testing in my environment and observed the following behavior:

    • I created a new Bookings service, configured a Location, assigned a staff member, and then booked an appointment through the booking page.
    • The customer received the booking confirmation email and meeting invitation with the Location that was configured at the time the appointment was booked.
    • However, after the appointment was already booked, I changed the Location in the service settings and found that the existing booking was not updated automatically.
    • The customer continued to see the original Location. Only new bookings created after the Location change reflected the updated Location information.

To better understand your scenario, could you please provide screenshots of:

    • The service configuration showing the Location field
    • The booking details before and after the location update
    • The invitation or calendar event as seen by the customer

Please correct me if I'm misunderstanding. I appreciate your patience and understanding and thank you for your time and cooperation.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
