A family of Microsoft word processing software products for creating web, email, and print documents.
If the file is stored on OneDrive or SharePoint, Word may show Save a Copy instead of Save As. That is expected behavior.
Try this:
- In Word, go to File > Save a Copy.
- Choose Browse or another local location such as Desktop or Documents.
- Rename the file if needed, then select Save.
- Upload that saved local file to the college submission system.
If Word is not letting the file save locally:
- Press F12 or go to File > Save As to open the full save options.
- Select This PC, Browse, or a local folder.
- Save to Desktop or Documents first.
If the document still will not save, a common cause is folder permissions. Saving requires read, write, modify, and delete permissions for the folder. If one folder fails, save to a different local folder or drive.
If the issue is specifically about saving a template in Outlook on the web, the total size of all templates in My Templates must be under 32 KB. Reduce the content and try again.
