Good day. I will assume that what you meant "you opened it in a different format" means that it is different in physical view only and not in FILE FORMAT terms. If yes, this may just be caused by a change in Excel's zoom or view settings.
Check the view first:
- Open one of the affected Excel files.
- Go to View > Normal.
- Check the Zoom setting at the bottom-right and set it to 100%.
- Close Excel, then open the file again.
If it still looks much wider, could you let me know whether the columns themselves are wider, or whether you can simply see more columns on the screen? A screenshot would also help confirm what changed.
