Hello Microsoft,
I would like to formally report an issue I experienced today with your exam delivery partner, Pearson VUE.
I was scheduled to take the SC‑300 exam at 9:45 AM EST and arrived 30 minutes early, as recommended. I downloaded the exam software, completed all required steps, and submitted the six mandatory room photos. After that, the system proceeded to the terms and conditions.
At this point, a chat window appeared and an agent instructed me to change my camera angle and place the webcam on top of my monitor. I was using a PC with a webcam mounted on a tripod, so adjusting the setup required a moment. While I was repositioning the camera, the system suddenly displayed a message stating that I had left the session, and I was immediately blocked from continuing the exam.
I need to emphasize that the chat was not functioning properly. The exam software locks the system, preventing any adjustments to camera settings, zoom, or configuration. This is a standard wired webcam, not an action camera, and repositioning it requires physical movement. Despite this, the agent did not provide any assistance. I verbally asked for help multiple times, but the proctor did not respond, which felt negligent and dismissive.
This occurred around 9:25 AM, well before the scheduled exam time. I arrived early specifically to avoid issues like this. I had already submitted six room photos, a selfie, and completed the webcam test. If the camera angle was unacceptable, I should have been notified before proceeding to the terms and conditions.
I prepared extensively for this exam and took a day off work to complete it. The proctor’s lack of communication and abrupt termination of the session resulted in a complete loss of my exam opportunity. Considering the exam fee of $225, it is concerning that Pearson VUE did not provide basic support—such as a brief video call or clearer guidance—to resolve a simple camera‑angle issue.
I respectfully request that Microsoft review this incident and assist in resolving the matter, as the experience with Pearson VUE today was unacceptable and prevented me from taking the exam I prepared for.
Thank you for your attention.
