Sorry to hear that you’re having trouble receiving new messages in your Hotmail account. Could you please share a little more information about the situation?

Is this happening when you use Outlook.com in a web browser, the Outlook app, or both? Please sign in to your account through Outlook.com in a web browser and check whether you see any warning or notification related to your mailbox or Microsoft storage being full.

Also, are you not receiving messages from all senders, or only from specific email addresses? If someone sends you a test message, do they receive any delivery failure or bounce-back message?

I've been using the Sweep function lately. Now, I'm not getting any emails to come thru, even if the sender is in my Safe list. I'd drop Outlook in a heartbeat, but I've had this address for 25 years at least... In trying to change some settings, the entire platform looks way different now. So frustrating.

Thank you for the additional information. Since this started after you began using the Sweep function, I would first check whether a Sweep rule or another Inbox rule is automatically moving or deleting your incoming messages.

Please sign in to Outlook.com from a web browser, then:

1. Click the Settings (gear) icon.
2. Go to Mail > Rules.
3. Review all of the rules listed there. In particular, look for any rule that moves messages to Deleted Items, Archive, Junk Email, or another folder.
4. Temporarily disable or delete any rule that you do not recognize or that may have been created while using Sweep.

After disabling the rules, please have someone send you a new test email and let us know whether it reaches your Inbox.

If you find any rules but are unsure what they are doing, you can share a screenshot of the Mail > Rules page, making sure to hide any personal email addresses, and I can help you review them.
