I would like to know why you do not yet have the folder feature in Copilot? It is very hard to keep track of all the chats.

    Good day Shannon Faulkner,

Thank you for posting your question. This is an interesting and useful feature request, especially for users who have accumulated many Copilot conversations.

Microsoft has not provided a specific public explanation for why folders are not currently available for organizing Copilot chats. Since this is a user-to-user community, we do not have access to Microsoft’s product decisions or future development plans.

However, there are a few possible explanations. The folder feature may not yet have been prioritized, or Microsoft may still be exploring how users prefer to organize their conversations. The product team may also be taking a different approach by providing tools such as Copilot Pages, where useful responses can be saved and developed for ongoing work instead of relying only on individual chats. Also, Copilot was designed primarily as a conversational assistant, its organization options may also be less extensive than those in note-taking or project-management applications.

If you are using Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat, you can make conversations easier to find by giving important chats clear, descriptive names. You may also see an option to move relevant conversations to a Copilot Notebook. For older or unnecessary conversations, deleting them can help keep the chat list more manageable.

As the AI-generated answer suggested, I recommend submitting this request through the feedback option in Copilot. Feedback sent from within the product is the appropriate way to share the suggestion with the relevant Microsoft product team.

Hopefully, this idea will receive further consideration and be included in a future Copilot update.

Copilot does not currently provide a folder feature for organizing chats based on the available product feedback and support discussions in the context. Similar requests have asked for folders, tags, sorting, and better search because chat lists become difficult to manage as they grow.

The supported path today is to submit this as product feedback:

    1. Open Feedback Hub on Windows.
    2. Sign in with a Microsoft account if prompted.
    3. Select Feedback or Provide feedback.
    4. Choose Suggest a feature.
    5. Submit the request.

If similar suggestions already exist in Feedback Hub, upvoting them can increase visibility.

For Microsoft Teams specifically, a similar folder-style capability was retired, and the documented alternatives mentioned are Custom Sections, Favorites, and Channels.
