request a supervisor review and manual refund for an ongoing duplicate billing issue on my account.

I am the primary bill payer for a Microsoft 365 Family subscription. In addition to this, I have been paying $20/month for a standalone Copilot Pro subscription to get premium AI access in my Office apps.

My standalone Copilot Pro subscription abruptly cut off today. Upon checking, I discovered it officially expired on July 25th because Microsoft discontinued the standalone plan. However, I realized that Microsoft had already integrated the exact same premium Copilot AI capabilities directly into core Microsoft 365 plans.

Because of this transition, I was left double-paying $20/month for a standalone AI add-on that was already bundled into the main subscription I pay for. I was never explicitly notified of this overlap, nor was my standalone plan automatically transitioned.

Since I paid twice for the exact same premium AI functionality during the overlap period, I would like a billing representative to review my account history and issue a reimbursement for those overlapping months.

    Hi @S'Learn_M

I’m sorry you’ve had to deal with this unexpected billing situation.

Please note that Microsoft Q&A is a public forum, so members and moderators cannot access your account, review charges, issue a refund, or arrange a supervisor escalation. Also, Copilot Pro and the Copilot benefits included with Microsoft 365 Family were not necessarily identical, since Copilot Pro provided more extensive AI usage beyond the standard AI-credit limits.

However, you can still ask Microsoft Billing Support to review the period of overlap and determine whether an exception or manual refund is possible. Sign in with the account that purchased Copilot Pro, open Microsoft Support, and choose Home Support > Ask our Support Assistant > Type "Talk to live chat agent" > Contact Support > Copilot > Chat with a support agent in your web browser. Ask the agent to review both subscriptions, the billing dates, and your payment history, and request escalation to a supervisor if necessary.

Refund approval is not guaranteed and depends on the purchase channel, timing, region, and account history. If Copilot Pro was purchased through Apple, Google Play, or another retailer, the refund request must be submitted to that provider instead

Thank you for your time and understanding
