What is happening with 3D Builder?

Hi,

I am trying to download 3D Builder on Windows 11 from Norway, but I am getting the error message: "This product is unavailable in your market."

Is 3D Builder officially unsupported or region-locked for Norway on Windows 11? I have noticed that the app is no longer pre-installed on newer Windows versions.

When I click "View in Store", the Microsoft Store opens, but the download button is completely disabled or missing. [1]

Could you please clarify if there is an official way to acquire the app in Norway, or if Microsoft has completely discontinued it for this region?

Thank you!

3D Builder is officially discontinued, not just region-locked for Norway.

    Microsoft states that:

    • 3D Builder was the recommended 3D printing app on newer Windows devices and had to be installed from Microsoft Store.
    • As of July 2024, 3D Builder is no longer supported.
    • It was removed from the Microsoft Store.

    That matches the behavior shown:

    • “This product is unavailable in your market”
    • disabled or missing download button
    • Store page opening but not allowing installation

Microsoft also notes that when an app is removed from Microsoft Store, the app description page can remain visible for some time even though the app is no longer available. So the Store listing can still appear while installation is blocked.

There is no official Microsoft-supported way in the provided information to acquire 3D Builder in Norway on Windows 11. For ongoing 3D printing needs, Microsoft recommends contacting the 3D printer provider for their recommended app.

    Hi Tian Hjortland,

I understand why this is frustrating, especially when the Store page remains visible but does not provide an installation option.

The message shown does not necessarily confirm that 3D Builder is specifically region-locked in Norway. However, 3D Builder is now a legacy app and its availability through the Microsoft Store may vary by region or account. You can first confirm that Settings > Time & language > Language & region > Country or region is correctly set to Norway, verify that the Microsoft Store account uses the same region, then sign out of the Store, run wsreset.exe, and check the listing again.

If the Install button remains unavailable, there may not be a reliable Microsoft-supported way to obtain a new installation through the Store in your current region. I would also avoid downloading APPX packages from unofficial third-party websites, as their security and integrity cannot be verified.

If availability has indeed been discontinued in your region, I recommend submitting a suggestion through the Feedback Hub to explain why 3D Builder remains important to users in Norway. You can also search for similar feedback and upvote it rather than creating a duplicate, helping Microsoft understand the level of demand.

I know this is not the news you were hoping for, but I wanted to make sure you received the most accurate information available about your situation. Thank you so much for your understanding.
