Sending, receiving, and organizing email in Outlook.com
Try these checks in order:
- Open the Notes folder directly in Outlook on the web.
- In the left folder list, scroll down and select Notes.
- If it is not visible, expand Folders or More.
- If the folder opens but the list is blank, wait a moment and refresh the page.
- Try a clean browser session.
- Open Microsoft Edge or Chrome in InPrivate/Incognito mode.
- Sign in only to the affected account.
- Open the Notes folder again.
- If the notes appear there, the issue is likely related to browser cache or an extension.
- Check other Microsoft notes locations.
- Open the Sticky Notes app on Windows and sign in with the same Microsoft account.
- Open OneNote on mobile and check the Sticky Notes section.
- This helps confirm whether the notes still exist but are not rendering in Outlook on the web.
- Check recovery locations.
- Open Deleted Items and look for the missing notes.
- If available, use Recover items deleted from this folder.
- If available, verify in classic Outlook for Windows.
- Open Outlook with the same account.
- Press Ctrl + 5 to open Notes, or go to More Apps > Notes.
- If the notes appear there, copy the contents somewhere safe immediately.
If the Notes folder shows a count such as 21 items but displays nothing, the folder may exist while Outlook on the web is not rendering the contents correctly. Checking in a private browser session, Sticky Notes, OneNote, or classic Outlook helps determine whether the notes are still present.
