Microsoft Bookings timezone support for British Columbia and Alberta changes in November 2026

Hello,

We are using Microsoft Bookings for scheduling coaching appointments and need clarification regarding the upcoming timezone changes in British Columbia and Alberta.

British Columbia will remain at UTC-7 year-round after November 1, 2026. Microsoft has announced the new Windows timezone:

“(UTC-07:00) Pacific Time (British Columbia)”

Alberta is also moving to a permanent year-round time system.

However, our Microsoft Bookings Booking Page currently only shows:

“(UTC-08:00) Pacific Time (US & Canada)”

Our Booking Page also has “Always show time slots in business time zone” disabled, so customer timezone detection is being used.

We tested a future January 2027 appointment and Microsoft Graph currently returns:

customerTimeZone = Pacific Standard Time

start = 2027-01-21T18:00:00Z

This corresponds to UTC-8. However, a 10:00 AM appointment in most of British Columbia after November 1, 2026 should correspond to 17:00 UTC (UTC-7).

We would like to understand:

1. Will Microsoft Bookings support the new “Pacific Time (British Columbia)” timezone and Alberta's new permanent timezone rules?
2. When will these changes be available in Microsoft Bookings/Booking Pages?
3. How will Bookings detect and assign the correct timezone for customers in British Columbia and Alberta after November 2026?
4. Will existing and future Bookings appointments automatically use the new timezone rules?
5. Will appointments created manually by coaches through Bookings/Outlook and appointments created through Microsoft Graph API automatically handle the new timezone rules?
6. Is any change required in our Microsoft Graph/API integration?
7. Most importantly, what is the officially supported Microsoft Bookings configuration for British Columbia and Alberta after November 2026?

We do not want to implement a hardcoded one-hour adjustment in our application, as this could result in incorrect appointment times.

We would appreciate clarification on the expected Microsoft Bookings behavior and the officially supported configuration for these timezone changes.
