If the account is an adult account and Family Safety is being enforced on Windows 11, use this reset on the affected laptop:

    1. Press Windows + R.
    2. Type cmd and select OK.
    3. Run:
    schtasks /run /tn "Microsoft\Windows\Shell\FamilySafetyRefreshTask"

    1. Restart the laptop.

If the account is still part of a Microsoft family group, check that first:

    1. Sign in at account.microsoft.com/family.
    2. If a family group appears, an organizer must remove the account from the group.
    3. If Remove from family group is not available, the organizer must first select Remove consent for this child’s account, then complete Remove from family group.

Important effects of leaving or being removed from a family group:

    • Family Safety settings can no longer be managed for that account.
    • Access to shared products and services from the family can be lost, such as Microsoft 365 Family and shared digital purchases.

If the account remains in the family group but only activity tracking needs to stop, a family organizer can:

    1. Sign in at https://account.microsoft.com/family/home/settings.
    2. Select the member name.
    3. Turn off Activity reporting on each device platform tab.

If restrictions are still applied after removal, run the FamilySafetyRefreshTask command again on each impacted device and restart.

    Hello,

I understand the situation you're in.

According to Microsoft Family Safety policies, only the family organizer can add or remove members from the family group or change the family safety settings.

If your account has been added to a family group as a child account and Family Safety restrictions have been applied to your account, only the family organizer can remove or modify those restrictions.

So, if you are an adult, you can ask the family organizer to remove the restrictions from your account. However, if the organizer does not agree with this, your remaining option would be to create a new Microsoft account as adult and use it on your Windows PC.
