Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
If Microsoft 365 is not showing under the account and only an expired subscription appears, the most useful checks are:
- Go to Services & subscriptions and verify the subscription status there. If the active subscription is correctly attached to the account, it should appear at the top of the page.
- Go to Subscriptions and check the expiration details under Services & subscriptions. If it shows Expires on [date], that is the subscription currently tied to that account. If the renewal succeeded, the expiration or next charge information should reflect that.
- Go to Billing orders and check whether the purchase or renewal appears in order history for that same Microsoft account.
- If the subscription was renewed from a physical box or retail card, the subscription does not start until the product key is redeemed.
- On Mac, sign out of the Office apps and sign back in with the same Microsoft account that owns the subscription. This can refresh activation, but it will not make a subscription appear in the account if it is attached to a different Microsoft account.
- If the renewal email exists but the subscription still does not appear online for that account, contact Microsoft Support and provide the order details so the account and billing record can be checked.
If files are the concern as well, an expired subscription does not delete documents. Files should still be available locally on the Mac or in the correct OneDrive account.
