No sound after Win11 update

I updated Windows 11 on 9/14/26 and now have no sound. I've even tried external speakers, no sound. I have a newer (3 months old) Acer Aspire HDMI, intel core i5. It took several tries over the past week to get the update to take. Is there a way to get sound back?

Right click your Start Button and open Device Manager.

Expand the 'Sound, Video and Game Controllers' section.

Please provide a screenshot of that full Device Manager window.

Click your Start Button, then just type msinfo and press Enter, please provide a screenshot of the resulting System Information window.

Open the Settings App, then go to Windows Update - Update History.

What is the KB number of the update that was installed that caused to problem with the audio on your laptop.

Thank you for the screenshots, I do not see any problem with your drivers indicated.

I think this is most likely caused by the Windows update, the best option is to open the Settings App.

Go to System - Recovery.

Click the 'Reinstall Now' button in the 'Fix problems with Windows Updates' then wait for that process to complete.

This process will not affect your files, settings or installed apps.

Root Cause:

chance to driver corrupted or driver issue. so, First press windows + x key then select Device Manager go to sounds and vide game controller check you driver status. it looking good or corrupted or not properly installed.

Solution :

if corrupted or not properly installed then uninstall from you pc restart your pc then install again your driver.
suppose not helped download latest sound driver from internet and uninstall existing driver restart your pc then install the downloaded latest driver. it will work.
