Hi Community,

I have an imac and purchased the Microsoft 365 package in April earlier this year - it was due for renewal next April so should have remained as active, however I am now unable to use any microsoft documents and the 365 license is NOT showing in my microsoft portal. I have tried renewing the license (paying twice for it) and even then the license is not applied after I select "activate". It is coming up with an 0X0 error. I have screenshots which can be provided if helpful.

I have tried restarting and also following the tips here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/support/known-issues/unknown-error-0x0-license-not-found-error-microsoft365-macos without success (Microsoft AutoUpdate is not showing in the applications list) and in the Apple App store, all Miccrosoft applications are showing as updated (status = purchased).

I have tried calling the Microsoft support # for NZ which only directs you to online support, I have tried using the online support, Microsoft AI chat bots and am still no further to resolving.

Please help!

Thanks so much in advance.

Kim

    Hi Kim,

Since you’ve already followed the troubleshooting article, there are two things worth checking. Microsoft notes that if Microsoft AutoUpdate isn’t visible in Applications, it may still be located under /Library/Application Support/Microsoft/MAU2.0/. Open it from there and install all available Office updates. Microsoft lists the 0x0/“License Not Found” issue as resolved in current builds.

More importantly, since the subscription you purchased is not showing in your Microsoft account, please make sure you’re signing in with the exact Microsoft account used for the original purchase. Microsoft also recommends resetting the Office licensing credentials through Keychain when an active subscription will not activate.

As you’ve been charged twice, I would avoid purchasing another subscription. If neither purchase appears under the account, Microsoft Support will need to check the purchases and account association directly.

Thank you, and feel free to respond back for more assistance.
