Use Get Help again, but choose chat instead of waiting for another callback.
Steps:
- Open Get Help on the web or Get Help in Windows.
- Describe the issue.
- Select Contact Support.
- Choose the product/service related to Windows.
- Choose the support category.
- Select Chat with a support agent in your web browser.
If callback is offered again, availability can vary based on hours of operation, product, scenario, and subscription. Chat is the clearest alternative when a callback is missed or delayed.
For Windows Update issues, also run the built-in troubleshooter while waiting for support:
- Select Start > Settings > System.
- Select Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
- Find Windows Update and select Run.
If the update problem continues, verify these common items:
- Internet connection: Start > Settings > Network & Internet > Wi‑Fi.
- Administrator access: some updates require an administrator account.
- Disconnect external hardware not needed for basic use.
- Date and time: Start > Settings > Time & language > Date & time, then enable automatic time settings.
