when i try to open microsoft word or power point that time a notification comes. this notification shows that my wor or power point has run into an error that is preventing it from work correctly

Try these steps in order:

Update Office
- Open any Office app if possible.
- Go to File > Account.
- Under Product Information, select Update Options > Update Now.
- If Update Now is not shown, select Enable Updates first.
Start Word or PowerPoint in Safe Mode
- Press Windows key + R to open Run.
- For Word, type: winword /safe
- For PowerPoint, type: powerpnt /safe
- Press Enter.
- If the app opens in Safe Mode, the title bar should show Safe Mode.
If the app opens in Safe Mode, disable add-ins
- In the app, go to File > Options > Add-Ins.
- In the Manage list, select the app add-ins or COM Add-ins, then select Go.
- Clear one add-in, select OK, then restart the app normally.
- Repeat until the problem add-in is found.
- Older add-ins such as Abbyy FineReader, PowerWord, and Dragon Naturally Speaking are known to cause problems.
If the app does not open in Safe Mode, repair Office
- Open Control Panel.
- Go to Programs > Programs and Features.
- Select Microsoft Office or Microsoft 365.
- Select Change.
- Run Quick Repair first.
If Quick Repair does not fix it, run Online Repair
- Open Settings > Apps.
- Find Microsoft Office.
- Select it, then choose Modify > Online Repair.
- This is more complete than the Repair Now button in the error dialog and can reinstall Office.
If Online Repair still does not fix it
- Restart the PC.
- Then uninstall and reinstall Office.

If a specific Word, Excel, or PowerPoint file is damaged, try:

File > Open > Browse
Select the file
Select the arrow next to Open
Choose Open and Repair

If PowerPoint shows “Can’t read file” or “Presentation cannot be opened”, the file may be blocked:

In File Explorer, right-click the file > Properties
If Unblock appears, select Unblock > Apply > OK
Then open the file again

Go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.

Look for Microsoft 365, click on the three dots. Choose Modify, then choose Online Repair.

If Online Repair doesn't help, uninstall it.

Restart the computer.

Then reinstall.

Please go to https://www.office.com

Sign into the Microsoft account you used for the subscription. Click on the 9-dot icon on the upper left > More apps.

Then on the upper right, click on "Install apps". This will now download the installer file. Once downloaded, click on the file to install. It will install the Desktop version of the apps for you then.

This is new information you provided. I need a bit more context. When did this error come up? During repair, after repair? during reinstall or after reinstall?

Please take a screenshot of the entire “Part of this app has been blocked” notification and post it here. I specifically need to see the name of the file that Windows says was blocked.

i dont know actually, its a brand new laptop and i dont even know how to use a laptop properly, i bought it for my university task. when i repair it becomes fine but then again it becomes like this. please find me a solution, i'm exhausted. tomorrow is my exam and i have wasted 3 hours trying to fix this

So, it sounds like you did a repair already. Have you done an uninstall and reinstall, because that's another part of the instructions I gave initially.

Did you ever purchase your own Microsoft 365 subscription?

Go to your account https://account.live.com, then go to Subscriptions section, is there an active subscription listed? If so, what's the name of it?

Ok, but office apps are not free though. You either need a perpetual one-time purchased license, or a subscription.

Does your school give you a student subscription you can use? Otherwise you have to use a web based version.

Use the upload option to upload the docx file your professor gave you, then open it in the web browser instead.

What your friends are paying, or not paying, does not determine whether your copy of Office is licensed.

They may have Office through a school, employer, Microsoft 365 Family sharing, or a one-time Office purchase. They may also be using the free web versions rather than the licensed desktop applications.

In your case, the issue is that the account currently signed into Office does not appear to have a valid Office license attached to it. That has to be resolved before the desktop apps can be activated.

Since you are a university student, check whether your school provides Microsoft 365 Education by signing in with your university account here:

If you only need Word immediately, you can also use the free web version like I mentioned above.
