I purchased Office Home 2024 for my MAC on 9/9/26. I have 2 order numbers, one reads $0, Paid with redeemed code the other reads $192.59, one time purchase via Visa. My existing Office Home is 2021. How / when will the 2024 version transfer/ occur? What do I need to do?

    Hello,

    Uninstall the apps.

Then please use the instruction here: https://support.microsoft.com/office/how-to-remove-office-license-files-on-a-mac-b032c0f6-a431-4dad-83a9-6b727c03b193 Download and run the license removal tool to clear the current 2021 license.

Then reinstall Office from your Microsoft account. See if it now gives you 2024.

Office Home 2024 does not automatically replace Office Home 2021 just because it was purchased. For a one-time purchase on Mac, the product key is redeemed once, then the license is tied to the Microsoft account used during redemption. After that, installation and activation must be done from that same Microsoft account.

    Recommended path:

    1. Check that Office Home 2024 is attached to the correct Microsoft account.
      • Go to the Microsoft account dashboard.
      • Open the Services & subscriptions page.
      • Confirm that Office Home 2024 is listed under purchased products or services.
    2. If the product key shows as already used, do not try to redeem it again.
      • That message means the key was already redeemed.
      • Use the Microsoft account that was used for the original redemption to install Office.
    3. Reinstall from the account page.
      • Sign in to the same Microsoft account associated with the Office Home 2024 purchase/redemption.
      • Install Office from the account’s install page.
    4. Open an Office app and verify activation.
      • In Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, open File > Account.
      • Check Product Information to confirm it shows the Office 2024 license.
      • On Mac, version details can also be checked from the app menu bar under About.
    5. If the apps still show Office 2021 after reinstalling:
      • Make sure the apps are signed in with the same Microsoft account that holds the Office Home 2024 license.
      • Close the apps and start them again so the updated license is picked up.

What the two order lines usually indicate:

    • A line showing $0, Paid with redeemed code matches a completed key redemption.
    • The paid line reflects the purchase transaction.
    • The important part for activation is whether Office Home 2024 appears in the Microsoft account used for redemption.

    Also note:

    • Office 2024 is a one-time purchase for one PC or Mac.
    • It is separate from Microsoft 365 subscriptions and does not include Microsoft 365 services.
