How long have you owned your computer/laptop? Did it come with Windows 11? When you first set it up did you as the administrator create a Microsoft account and register Windows 11? Where did the product key you want to use come from?

Error 0xC004C003 means Windows 11 Pro is not finding a valid license or product key for that installation.

Based on the activation page shown, the first checks are:

    1. Open Start > Settings > System > Activation.
    2. Select Troubleshoot.
      • This works only when Windows is not activated.
      • An internet connection is required.
      • Administrator sign-in is required.
    3. If the troubleshooter does not fix it, select Change product key and re-enter the 25-character Windows product key.
    4. Confirm that the installed edition matches the license. If the license is for a different edition than Windows 11 Pro, activation will fail.

If this laptop had a digital license before a hardware change, use the activation troubleshooter path for reactivation after hardware change. That path requires signing in with the same Microsoft account that was linked before the hardware change.

If the motherboard was replaced, Windows may no longer find the original digital license. In that case:

    • if the manufacturer replaced the motherboard, the device may reactivate automatically
    • if a valid product key is available, enter it through Settings > System > Activation > Change product key
    • if the troubleshooter cannot resolve it, contact Microsoft support

If this is the first time Windows 11 Pro has been installed on this laptop, a valid Windows 11/10 Pro product key or digital license is required for activation.
