Managing bookmarks, browsing history, and downloads in Edge on Windows 11
You may need to clear your cloud-synced data, disable Windows sharing features, or use the keyboard shortcut Shift + Delete.
To delete an individual suggestion, type the unwanted search term into the Edge address bar until it appears in the drop-down suggestion list. Use the arrow keys to highlight the specific suggestion, then press Shift + Delete on your keyboard to remove that individual entry.
If the suggestions keep repopulating, they may be synced to your Microsoft account. Go to the Microsoft Privacy Dashboard and sign in with the account you use in Edge. Navigate to Search or Browsing history and clear the data stored in the cloud.
In Edge, go to Settings > Profiles and turn off Share browsing data with other Windows features. This can prevent Windows from feeding old searches back into your browser.
You can also turn off personalization settings. Open Edge and go to Settings > Privacy, search, and services. Scroll down to the Privacy section and turn off Allow Microsoft to save your browsing activity including history, usage, favorites, web content, and other browsing data. Restart Edge afterward.
