Managing profiles and sync in Microsoft Edge on Windows 10
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
After configuring Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC for automatic logon and removing/re-creating my Windows Hello PIN, Edge’s Microsoft Password Manager now defaults to asking for my full account credentials when viewing saved passwords.
I can still select More choices → PIN and authenticate successfully with my Windows Hello PIN, but I want PIN to be the default authentication method rather than having to select it manually each time.
Is there a Windows/Edge setting or policy that will make the Edge Windows Security prompt default to Windows Hello PIN instead of account name/password?
Thank you for reading, and for any suggestions.

I somewhat resolved the issue by disabling the auto-log-on configuration.
Per Claude: "Windows tracks which credential method you last used to sign in, per user account, in a specific registry location, and this same tracking applies to every successful authentication, whether it's an unlock, a fresh local logon, or a remote desktop sign-in. That's the mechanism that normally makes PIN show up by default on that Edge prompt — it's literally just remembering 'PIN worked last time.'"
Thanks for reading. Let me know if you have any thoughts on this trade-off.
