Device Encryption missing even though Windows says prerequisites are met

I am using Windows 11 Home Single Language, version 25H2, on a Lenovo laptop.

The Device Encryption option is missing from Settings > Privacy & security.

I have already checked the following:

  • I am signed in with a Microsoft account.
  • My Windows account has administrator privileges.
  • TPM 2.0 is present and ready.
  • Secure Boot is ON.
  • PCR7 Configuration shows “Binding Possible”.
  • Windows Recovery Environment is enabled.
  • System Information was opened as administrator and shows “Automatic Device Encryption Support: Meets prerequisites.”
  • The C: drive is currently fully decrypted.
  • Windows is fully updated.
  • I also updated the laptop BIOS to the latest available version.

However, Device Encryption does not appear anywhere under Settings > Privacy & security, so I have no supported way to turn it on.

I understand that full BitLocker Drive Encryption management is available on Pro editions, but Microsoft documentation states that Device Encryption is also available on supported Windows Home devices.

How can I enable Device Encryption on this Windows 11 Home Single Language device without upgrading to Windows Pro?

Please let me know if there is a supported Windows configuration or service that needs to be repaired or enabled.

    Hi Dinku yadav,

    If you can't find Device Encryption under Settings > Privacy & security, you can also check whether it is exposed through Control Panel.

    1. Open Control Panel
    2. Go to System and Security
    3. Look for Device Encryption or BitLocker Drive Encryption.

    On some devices, Windows may expose the encryption status through the legacy Control Panel interface even when the Settings page is missing.

    Since System Information reports "Automatic Device Encryption Support: Meets prerequisites", your device appears to support Device Encryption.

    Please let us know:

    • Whether BitLocker Drive Encryption appears under Control Panel > System and Security.
    • Whether selecting it shows the operating system drive and its encryption status.

    This will help determine whether the encryption feature is available but the modern Settings page is not being displayed correctly.
