Minecraft launcher not installing I tried everything (at least I think) and windows updates keep giving me errors

The Minecraft install failure is likely a symptom of the Windows Update problem. The screenshots show Windows Update is not working correctly, and the Minecraft installer error also says Windows must be up to date.

Work through these in order:

1. Restart the PC Go to Start > Power > Restart.
2. Try Windows Update again Go to Start > Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates. If updates appear, install them first. Minecraft Store installs can fail until Windows Update is working.
3. Reset Microsoft Store cache
   • Press Windows key + R
   • Type wsreset.exe
   • Select OK A blank Command Prompt window should open, then close after about 10 seconds, and Microsoft Store should open automatically.
4. Update Microsoft Store Open Microsoft Store > Library > Get updates. If a Store update is available, let it install.
5. Repair or reset the Minecraft Launcher app if it already exists in Apps Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps. Select Minecraft Launcher > Advanced options > Repair. If that does not help, select Reset.
6. Repair or reset Microsoft Store apps if needed Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps. Select the affected app, then Advanced options > Repair. If the issue continues, use Reset. Note: reset can remove app data for that app.
7. Reinstall from Microsoft Store Library Open Microsoft Store > Library. Find Minecraft Launcher and select Install.
8. If Windows Update still fails, manually reset Windows Update components Open Command Prompt as administrator and run these commands one at a time:

      net stop bits
      net stop wuauserv
      ren %systemroot%\softwaredistribution softwaredistribution.bak
      ren %systemroot%\system32\catroot2 catroot2.bak
      net start bits
      net start wuauserv
   

   Then restart the PC and check Windows Update again. Note: this renames Windows Update cache folders and is generally safe, but it resets update history/cache state.
9. If updates still will not install, check for software conflicts
   • Make sure the device is connected to the internet.
   • If third-party antivirus or security software is installed, temporarily uninstall it, update Windows, then reinstall it.
   • A clean restart can also help eliminate software conflicts during updates.
10. If Minecraft still cannot be found or installed after Store and Update are fixed, check these conditions

• The PC may need a restart after recent Windows updates.
• The app may be hidden because it is incompatible with the device.
• The Microsoft account signed in to Store may be the wrong one.
• The PC may need to be authorized for Microsoft Store apps.

11. If the issue remains after all of the above Use Contact Microsoft Support from the support flow for Store/install issues.
