    Dear @Trinity,

Based on your description, since you have already updated the device, completely removed Microsoft 365, restarted, and reinstalled Office, the issue is less likely to be caused by the local Office installation itself.

The error 49dvs is commonly associated with Microsoft 365 authentication or licensing problems rather than application corruption. Several reported cases indicate that the issue can be related to account sign-in, licensing assignment, or Microsoft Entra ID tenant configuration.

Therefore, here are some suggestions you can try:

1/ Contact to your Admin to verify the Microsoft 365 license assignment, in case you are admin of your organizatin, you can try:

    • Sign in to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
    • Go to Users > Active users.
    • Select the affected user.
    • Confirm that a valid Microsoft 365 Nonprofit license is assigned and enabled.

If the license is already assigned, try removing it, saving the change, waiting a few minutes, and then assigning it again.

    2/Check subscription status

    • Navigate to: Billing > Your products

Verify that the nonprofit subscription is active and not suspended, expired, or pending renewal. Activation issues can occur when the subscription status is not fully active.

3/ Test the account in Office on the web

If you can successfully access Word Online, Excel Online, or Outlook Online, this generally confirms that the account and license are recognized by Microsoft 365, and the issue may be related to desktop activation rather than the subscription itself.

    4/Clear Office sign-in credentials

    • Sign out of all Office applications.
    • Open Credential Manager and remove Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365 credentials.
    • Restart the device.
    • Sign back in with the licensed account.

    5/Review Microsoft Entra sign-in logs

If you are a tenant administrator:

    • Open the Microsoft Entra Admin Center.
    • Navigate to Monitoring > Sign-in logs.
    • Attempt Office activation again.
    • Check for any authentication failures or AADSTS errors.

There was a previously reported issue involving the same 49dvs error code. Microsoft has since addressed the issue, and you may find the following article helpful for reference: Errors CAA2000B, 4usqa, and 49dvs when trying to sign in to classic Outlook and Outlook for Mac

I hope information above can help you resolve the issue as soon as possible, please feel free to reach out if you have any other questions.
