    Hi, @David Skryja

    To help narrow this down:

    1. What email service are you using, such as Outlook.com/Hotmail, Gmail, or another provider?
    2. Where are you checking your email: Outlook app, a web browser, iPhone, or Android?
    3. Can you sign in to the account normally, but the Inbox just shows no messages?

If this is an Outlook.com or Hotmail account, please also try signing in directly at https://outlook.live.com/mail and check the Inbox, Junk Email, Deleted Items, and Archive folders.

Let me know what you see there.

Click "Add comment" to let me know.

    Thanks!

    Try these checks in Outlook.com:

    1. Check Junk Email, Deleted Items, and Archive.
      • If the message is in Deleted Items, select it and choose Restore.
      • If it is in Archive, move it back to Inbox.
      • If it is in Junk Email, mark it as Not junk.
    2. In Deleted Items, select Recover items deleted from this folder.
      • Messages removed from Deleted Items are recoverable for 30 days.
    3. Check the message list filter.
      • Above the message list, select Filter and set it to All.
    4. Check whether Focused Inbox is enabled.
      • If it is, look in the Other tab for missing mail.
    5. Check inbox rules.
      • Go to Rules settings and look for rules that move messages out of the inbox.
    6. Check account storage.
      • If Microsoft cloud storage is full, Outlook.com cannot send or receive email, and messages sent while storage was full are bounced back to the sender and are unrecoverable.
    7. Check recent sign-in activity.
      • If unusual activity is suspected, review the account’s recent activity to see whether someone else accessed it.
    8. If sign-in is failing, use the Microsoft account sign-in helper.

If these steps do not resolve it, use Outlook.com support from Help in the menu bar and then Still need help?
