    Open Word and go to File --› New, then search for “card”. You can choose one of the available templates and customize it with your own text, images and formatting.

    Microsoft is retiring Publisher after October 2026 and recommends using Word or PowerPoint as alternatives for creating publications such as greeting cards.

    For creating a greeting card in Word:

    • Open Word and go to "File" > "New."
    • Search for "greeting card" in the template search box.
    • Select a template and click "Create."
    • Replace the sample text and pictures with your own.
    • When finished, go to "File" > "Print" and check the print preview before printing.

    Since Publisher is being retired, I’d also suggest PowerPoint or Microsoft Designer https://designer.microsoft.com for greeting cards. PowerPoint gives you more freedom to position text, pictures, and shapes, while Microsoft Designer has a dedicated greeting card feature and can generate a card from a description.
