When on a Teams call - my correct name is shown within the call. However at the VERY TOP RIGHT of the page - in the grey section it has my wifes name and we do not know how or why. Where can this be changed please?

Teams app allows multiple business accounts and one personal account, and you can switch among those accounts. I suspect your wife's account is somehow used here before, hence it is now "parked" there as an option to switch between.

If you do not mind sharing a screenshot, I can confirm that. When you share a screenshot, please edit to hide any personal identifier such as email address, picture, full name, etc. You can leave partial domain fo the email addresses to help me identify personal vs. business account type.

    Hi Alec Fitzsimons,

To help narrow down where this name is coming from, could you provide a bit more information?

    • Is the incorrect name only shown in the top-right corner of the Teams window, or does it appear anywhere else in Teams?
    • Are you signed in with a personal Microsoft account, a work/school account, or multiple accounts at the same time?
    • Does your wife's name appear in the Teams desktop app, the Teams web app, or both?
    • If you click your profile picture in the top-right corner, what name is displayed there?
    • Have you ever signed into Teams on this device using your wife's account, or is her Microsoft account currently connected to Windows/macOS?
    • Does this issue occur on only one device, or on all devices where you use Teams?

If possible, please also provide a screenshot of the top-right area where the incorrect name appears (please blur or redact any personal information before uploading). This will help determine whether the name is coming from your Teams profile, your Microsoft account, a connected Windows/macOS profile, or another account cached on the device.

If I have misunderstood any part of your situation, please feel free to clarify and I will be happy to assist further.

Thank you for your time and cooperation.
