I am using Microsoft Teams with a personal Microsoft account. When I go to my profile > LinkedIn and select ‘Connect your LinkedIn account’, the authentication window does not load the LinkedIn authorization flow and ends up redirecting back to Teams. I reproduced this in the Teams desktop app, Chrome, and Chrome Incognito. Allowing pop-ups did not change the behavior. In Chrome DevTools, the token request to login.microsoftonline.com fails with HTTP 400: Error invalid_scope, AADSTS70011, stating the provided scope is not valid. The scope value isurn:microsoft:purpose LIBind/.default openid profile offline_access. Could you please confirm whether this is a known issue with the Teams personal account–LinkedIn integration and if the LIBind scope configuration needs correction on Microsoft’s side?

Looks like the LinkedIn link is pointing to an URL that's only for work/school account, not for personal account.
When you first sign into your personal account in Teams, did you receive a pop up asking you to pick Personal or Work/school?
I know this used to work, but I can confirm it is not working on my Teams now either.
Hi Emily, thank you for your response. I can confirm that I am signed in to Teams with my personal Microsoft account, and Teams explicitly labels the account as Personal, not Work/School. I also have an active Microsoft 365 Personal subscription. Microsoft’s documentation indicates that the personal version of Teams supports connecting a LinkedIn account from the LinkedIn tab in the profile. When I click "Connect your LinkedIn account," the authentication request fails with HTTP400 / AADSTS70011
(invalid_scope). Since you have also confirmed that this feature is currently not working on your Teams, could this be an issue with the LinkedIn authentication flow for personal Microsoft accounts? Is there a way to escalate or report this to the Microsoft Teams product team?
Did you try using outlook.com on the web and try to click on your profile/contact card, and see if it connects there? I honestly cannot do it there either. It would find me some profiles that might be mine, but I don't get the option to say none of them were mine and no option to connect my own.
Please in your Teams, go to three dots on the upper right > Give feedback > Report a bug. This is the best way to make product team aware.
Hi Emily, thank you. I have now reported the issue directly through Teams using Feedback > Report a problem. I included the exact AADSTS70011 / invalid_scope error, attached a screenshot showing the failed authentication request, and enabled the option to share additional diagnostic logs with Microsoft.
I will also try the connection through Outlook.com as you suggested. Thank you for confirming that you are experiencing a similar issue as well.

I can connect to LinkedIn in Teams Web (Edge, Windows 11) using my personal account, but I'm already signed in to LinkedIn in this browser.
On the other hand, in the Teams app, pressing the "Connect your LinkedIn account" button just opens a blank window and no connection options are available.
Unfortunately, the web doesn't work for me either, Ruwim. It loops back to the Teams UI, with the chat list, etc. Doesn't matter which web browser, incognito or not. I wonder if this is another of those regional issues again.

I have this same issue if i go through outlook.com instead, and it is not giving me the option to connect my own.
I tested in Outlook.com as suggested, using the same personal Microsoft account. The LinkedIn tab loads, but it shows the exact same behavior as Teams, it suggests several LinkedIn profiles, none of which are mine. If I click "Search profiles on LinkedIn", LinkedIn opens and my correct profile appears immediately, marked as "You". So my profile is publicly visible and searchable, but not returned by the Microsoft/LinkedIn matching interface. Given that this happens in both Teams and Outlook with a personal account, it seems more like a profile-matching integration issue than a Teams-specific problem. Is there any way to manually link the correct LinkedIn profile, or should this be reported as a backend matching issue?
Yeah, something is definitely not right, and it is not a Teams specifically issue, but more of an account/profile issue. You can also send in a feedback via outlook.com too.
In Outlook.com, go to Help > Feedback > Report a problem.
Provide as much information as possible. You can also include screenshots or a screen recording showing the issue.
