Dear Teresa Perez,
I understand that you would like to continue using AI to help write letters, as typing is difficult and painful due to arthritis.
If by “on here” you mean this community forum, AI letter writing is not built into the forum itself. However, you can simply open Microsoft Copilot in a web browser, sign in, and describe the letter you would like it to write. For example, you could say, “Please help me write a polite letter to my council about…” You can then copy the finished letter into Word or another writing program to edit and print it.
The web version is available free of charge. You do not have to sign in, although signing in with a personal account gives you additional features, including longer conversations, saved chat history, and voice interaction.
Because of the arthritis in your fingers, you can also look for the microphone or Start dictation option in Copilot and speak your request instead of typing it. Once the letter is ready, copy it into Word so you can make any changes and print it.
Once Copilot has written the letter, you can select the Copy button below the response, as shown in the image below. This copies the entire letter at once, so you can paste it into Word without having to select the text manually.
Please note that using Copilot directly inside the Word desktop app is different and may require an eligible Microsoft 365 subscription.
If by “this service” you mean a particular Microsoft app or subscription, please tell me its name so we can give you the exact steps.
