The US stock data retrieved by the Excel STOCKHISTORY() function has remained stuck at September 4, 2026, throughout this week; the closing prices for the week have not updated. Please help resolve this issue; US stock market data for this week (September 8, 2026 – September 11, 2026) has not been updated.

thanks

    Dear @gordon.t,

Good day! Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum!

Based on your description, I understand that Excel STOCKHISTORY() function has remained stuck at September 4, 2026 and no longer updated for a week.

Between September 7 and 11, 2026, numerous Microsoft 365 users on Windows, Mac, and Excel for the Web reported on Microsoft Q&A and the Microsoft Community Hub that the STOCKHISTORY() function had ceased updating with new data. Reports show that the data usually stops around September 4 or 7, 2026, no matter which stock symbol is queried. However, at the time of compiling this, no official public announcement has been found in the form of a Service Health Advisory or a post from the Excel product team.

I also attached some reports from the community that I found:

Please note that this is a community forum where users help each other. I do not have permissions or tools to fix that issue.

Based on that, I recommend you report this via the App's Help > Feedback > Report a problem, so that this can get to the product team to make them aware.
