Installing Teams on Mac OS Monteray 12.7.6

Hi. I'm trying to install MS Teams on my iMac. It's a 2015 iMac that runs Mac OS Monteray 12.7.6 and can't be updated past that. I've followed instructions in this forum to download Office with Teams v16.88, but when I try to run teams I get this error screen:Screenshot 2026-09-12 at 09.42.42

Can you advise how to install Teams?

    The issue is that Office 16.88 and Teams have separate macOS requirements.

    Office 16.88 was the last Microsoft 365/Office release that supports macOS Monterey 12.  However, installing the “Office with Teams” 16.88 package does not give you a usable older Teams client because Teams enforces its own support/update requirements.

    Teams itself now requires one of the three most recent macOS versions, so Monterey is no longer supported.

    Microsoft currently supports the Teams desktop app on the three most recent versions of macOS:

    1. macOS Tahoe 26
    2. macOS Sequoia 15
    3. macOS Sonoma 14

    Since your iMac cannot be upgraded beyond macOS Monterey 12.7.6, there isn't a supported version of the Teams desktop app that can be installed on this Mac.
