Try these Windows 11 steps in order:
- Check the sound output device
- Click the Sound icon on the taskbar.
- Make sure the correct speakers or Bluetooth audio device is selected.
- Or go to Start > Settings > System > Sound and under Output select the device that should play sound.
- Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter
- In Windows 11, run the automated Bluetooth troubleshooter in the Get Help app: Run the troubleshooter in Get Help
- Turn Bluetooth off and back on
- Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
- Turn Bluetooth off, wait 10 seconds, then turn it on again.
- Remove and pair the Bluetooth device again
- Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
- Find the device, select More options (...) > Remove device.
- Select Add device and pair it again.
- Make sure the Bluetooth device is ready
- Confirm the Bluetooth device is turned on, charged, and within range of the PC.
- If it is sluggish or unresponsive, move it away from USB 3.0 devices that may interfere.
- Adjust the Bluetooth audio format
- Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices.
- Select the Bluetooth device, then Advanced sound properties.
- Under Output settings, set Format to 2 channels,16 bit, 48000Hz (DVD Quality).
- This option appears only while the Bluetooth device is connected.
- Update the Bluetooth driver
- Open Start > Device Manager.
- Expand Bluetooth.
- Right-click the Bluetooth adapter and select Update driver > Search automatically for updated driver software.
- Restart the PC if prompted.
- Check Windows Update
- Go to Start > Settings > Windows Update.
- Select Check for updates and install any available updates.
- Restart the PC
- Go to Start > Power > Restart.
- If Bluetooth audio still does not work, check device support
- Make sure the Bluetooth audio device supports A2DP for higher-quality audio streaming.
