Powerpoint: How do you show/hide special characters, hidden marks, whatever you want to call it

In Word and Publisher, there's a tool which allows you to see hidden marks, like spaces,tabs, line breaks, etc. How do you do the same thing in Powerpoint? And if it's not available, why the heck not?
