For a Surface Laptop 6 for Business, every commercial device includes at least a one-year Microsoft Limited Hardware Warranty.
Since the device was purchased on Aug 6, 2025, it would normally still be within that standard hardware warranty period if no excluded damage applies.
For a business device that shows it can’t find the disk drive, the supported next step is to open a service request:
- If managed through Microsoft 365, sign in to the Microsoft Surface support - Microsoft 365 admin center.
- Select Create service request.
- If managed through Intune, the alternative path is Microsoft Intune admin center > All services > Surface Management Portal > Create service request.
If self-service repair is preferred, Microsoft also provides self-repair options for some replaceable components, but that is intended for technically experienced repair scenarios.
For personal/noncommercial repair orders, the device service flow is through https://account.microsoft.com/devices, but for an organization-owned Surface, the business service portals are the documented path.
