If the password is for the email account in Outlook 2013, reset the Microsoft account password first, then update Outlook.

    1. Reset the account password at Recover your account.
    2. After the password is changed, open Outlook 2013 and enter the new password when prompted.
    3. If Outlook keeps asking for the old password, remove the saved Outlook credentials:
      • Open Control Panel.
      • Select Credential Manager.
      • Find any saved credentials with Outlook in the name.
      • Expand each one and select Remove from Vault.
      • Restart Windows.
      • Open Outlook and sign in again with the new password.
    4. In Outlook 2013, also check this setting if Outlook keeps prompting or cannot connect:
      • File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Privacy Options
      • Make sure Allow Office to connect to the Internet is selected.
    5. If the account is an IMAP account and Outlook never asks for a password during setup, make sure Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) is unchecked.

If the password is for a local Outlook .pst file, Microsoft cannot retrieve that password if it has been forgotten.

I'm sorry to remind you, but support for Outlook 2013 ended on April 11, 2023, as part of the end of support for Office 2013. This means, among other things, that technical support via phone, chat, or online content is no longer available. Perhaps someone here in the Microsoft Q&A community has an idea of something you can try. However, no one can tell you what your password is.

Hi, I'm Bernard. I'm happy to help!

Just to confirm, are you referring to your Outlook 2013 or your Microsoft Account, which was created in 2013? If it's your Microsoft Account, kindly follow the steps below to recover the account:

Method 1. Recover a Microsoft account by resetting the password:

Go to this link: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2273955 and follow the prompt to reset the password.

    For reference: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-billing/reset-a-forgotten-microsoft-account-password-eff4f067-5042-c1a3-fe72-b04d60556c37

Method 2. If you cannot reset the password or are unable to verify the account, I recommend submitting a recovery form:

    https://account.live.com/acsr

Please complete the form and expect a reply within a couple of days.

Note: If you are referring to your Office 2013 and you purchase it online using your Microsoft account, it should still be on your account. Kindly go to: https://account.microsoft.com/services
