    Hi Catherine,

Good day. In your New Outlook, accepting a meeting invitation should automatically add it to your Calendar. Try these steps:

    1. Open the meeting invitation and select Accept.
    2. Make sure you select Send response if prompted.
    3. Check that you're viewing the Calendar for the same account that received the invitation.
    4. If it's still missing, sign in to Outlook on the web and check your Calendar there.

    If it still doesn't work:

    1. Open the invitation and select Accept > send response.
    2. Go to Calendar and make sure you're viewing the calendar for the same account that received the invitation.
    3. Check the same account in Outlook on the web. If the meeting appears there but not in New Outlook, the issue is likely with the app.
    4. If it doesn't appear online either, check Settings > Calendar > Events and invitations and review the invitation/automatic processing settings.

    I hope this works.

    Regards,
    Jhun

To have Outlook add events from email to the calendar, use Outlook on the web or Outlook.com settings:

    1. Select Settings.
    2. Go to Calendar > Events from email.
    3. For each event type, choose one of these options:
      • Don't show event summaries in email or on my calendar
      • Only show event summaries in email
      • Show event summaries in email and on my calendar
    4. If needed, clear Mark events as private so only I can see them.

If Events from email was turned off, turn it back on:

    1. Select Settings.
    2. Go to Calendar > Events from email.
    3. If the message says Events from email aren't turned on for your account, select Turn on events from email.

    Important limits for this feature:

    • These settings can’t be changed in Outlook for Windows; they are changed in Outlook on the web or Outlook.com.
    • Events from email is available in Outlook, Outlook.com, and Outlook on the web, and only with Microsoft accounts such as Outlook.com or Microsoft 365 accounts.

For the second issue in new Outlook: there is documented behavior where meeting invites for non-Microsoft accounts such as IMAP are no longer saved to the default calendar the way legacy Outlook did. In new Outlook, the invite can be saved to a separate local calendar for that account instead of the primary Microsoft calendar.

    Workarounds:

    1. Check the left calendar pane and enable both the primary calendar and the account’s local calendar so the event is visible.
    2. If the event must appear in the primary Outlook.com or Microsoft 365 calendar, forward the invitation to that Microsoft account and accept it there.
    3. If the old behavior is required, switch back to legacy/classic Outlook.

If the shared or delegated calendar invitation does not show an Accept button, use Outlook on the web to accept the invitation.
