Adjusting alert preferences for messages, mentions, and activity within Teams Free
Hi Cheryl,
You can turn these emails off directly in Teams. You don't need to change your Outlook rules.
- Open Microsoft Teams.
- Select Settings and more (...) next to your profile picture > Settings.
- Select Notifications and activity.
- Find Missed activity emails.
- Change the setting to Off.
This stops Teams from sending summary emails about activity you missed while you weren't in Teams. Microsoft currently lists this as the setting specifically for controlling these email notifications.
If you're getting an email for every post in a particular channel, rather than a summary of missed activity, that's a different setting. In that case, go to the channel > ... > Channel notifications, and turn off notifications for new posts/messages.
Regards,
Jhun
