A Microsoft platform for building and publishing apps for Windows devices.
Hi @Zoharat Motiwala ,
I understand how frustrating this can be, especially when you're trying to provide a seamless installation experience and it's not immediately clear what the supported approach is for this scenario.
Based on the Microsoft documentation I was able to review, I have not yet found documentation describing how to automatically add a standard IPP printer by specifying its URL in an MSIX package manifest during installation.
The documented printing-related MSIX scenarios primarily focus on:
- Print Support Apps (PSA) Print Support App design guide
- Virtual Printer support MSIX Manifest Specification for Print Support Virtual Printer
To better understand your requirements, could you clarify whether you are trying to install a standard IPP printer that points to your application's IPP endpoint URL, or implement a virtual printer that is installed together with your application?
This distinction will help determine whether your scenario aligns with the supported Print Support App or Virtual Printer architectures and allow us to provide more targeted guidance.
I look forward to your update. If you have any question, feel free to let me know and if you found my response helpful or informative, I would greatly appreciate it if you could follow this guidance or provide feedback.
Thank you.
