Microsoft Learn profile merges are self-managed, but two personal Microsoft account–based Learn profiles cannot be merged directly.
Supported path:
- Sign in to the Learn profile tied to the old personal account.
- Go to Settings > Account Management > Add login account.
- Add a work or school account to that profile.
- Sign in with that work or school account.
- Remove the old personal account from that Learn profile.
- Add the new personal account. If that personal account is already tied to another Learn profile, this triggers the profile merge.
- Optionally, after the merge completes, remove the work or school account.
Important details:
- Only one personal login account is allowed on a Learn profile.
- If a login account being added is already associated with another Learn profile, adding it triggers a profile merge.
- Merging combines learning progress, credentials, and transcripts.
- The merge cannot be undone.
- If the merge would exceed the limit of five work or school accounts, the merge is canceled until that is resolved.
- MCID has been retired; the Learn profile identifier is the Learn Username.
To find the Learn Username:
- Sign in to Learn profile Settings.
- Check Personal Info, username and URL.
If certifications or exams still appear split after using the correct Learn profile, check whether the records are under a different login account, then contact Microsoft Credentials Support for missing credentials assistance.
