How to Fix Microsoft Type Cover Connection Issues

I have the Surface Pro 8 and after a recent software update, it seems that the type cover stopped working within the Windows OS. I did all the troubleshooting posted on the Microsoft website including cleaning the prongs, deleting the driver from Device manager and restarting my device, and I did the UEFI bootup, I did all the updates (including a brand new one for drivers that popped up when I checked for updates. My keyboard works at the UEFI stage, it is only when I restart my laptop and go to Windows it doesn't respond.
