That error usually occurs on a HP laptop, it is a TPM error in BIOS, do you have a HP laptop?

If so, if you type Y on that error dialog to reset TPM on your motherboard, does that stop the popup error appearing when you start your laptop.

If not, backup your files on your laptop to ensure against data loss.

Then go to the support page for your laptop on the manufacturers website to check for any BIOS update that may be available and not yet installed.

That message indicates a TPM problem during startup. The supported checks and fixes are:

    1. In Windows, open Windows SecurityDevice security.
      • If Security processor appears, the device has a TPM.
      • Select Security processor details to check the TPM status and version.
    2. Open Security processor troubleshooting.
      • This page shows TPM-specific error messages.
      • If it shows TPM is disabled and requires attention, enable TPM in the laptop’s BIOS/UEFI using the manufacturer’s instructions.
      • If it shows There is a problem with your TPM. Try restarting your device or TPM measured boot log is missing. Try restarting your device, restart first.
    3. If Windows reports TPM storage is not available. Please clear your TPM or Device health attestation isn't available. Please clear your TPM, use Clear TPM from:
      • Windows SecurityDevice securitySecurity processor detailsSecurity processor troubleshootingClear TPM
    4. Before clearing the TPM, back up important data.
      • Clearing the TPM can cause data loss.
      • It removes TPM-associated keys and can affect items protected by those keys, such as a sign-in PIN or virtual smart card.
      • Do not clear the TPM on a work or school device unless instructed by IT.
    5. After the restart, Windows automatically reinitializes the TPM.
    6. If the TPM is not detected at all, check BIOS/UEFI settings to make sure TPM is not disabled or hidden from Windows.
    7. If Windows Security says a firmware update is needed for the TPM, install the motherboard or laptop firmware update provided by the device manufacturer.

Windows 10 and Windows 11 normally initialize and take ownership of the TPM automatically, so manual TPM setup in TPM.msc is generally not recommended except for troubleshooting.
