That error occurs because there was previously a volume licence version of Office installed on your PC and the entry for that needs to be removed form the registry.

1

Please follow these steps carefully.

Click your Start Button, type regedit and hit Enter to open the Registry Editor.

Click View and make sure 'Address Bar' is turned on.

Paste this into the Address Bar at the top and hit Enter.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common

In left pane of the registry editor, expand the Common folder, there should be a sub folder named OfficeUpdate

Right click and delete the OfficeUpdate Key

Close the registry editor and restart (not shut down) your PC to apply the change.

2

If that does not resolve the problem, please follow these steps carefully.

Open the Registry Editor again.

Paste this into the Address Bar at the top and hit Enter.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\ClickToRun

In the left pane of the Registry Editor, is there a sub-folder of ClickToRun named Configuration?

If there is, right click that Configuration key (folder) and delete it

Then, restart (not shut down) your PC and try running the installation again

    Hi @Afif,

The screenshot indicates an Office update channel mismatch. Since you previously had Office 2021, Office LTSC, Visio, and Project installed, some Click-to-Run components or update-channel policies may remain even after the applications themselves have been removed.

To better understand your situation, could you please provide a bit more information?

    • Which Office product are you trying to install now?
    • Where does the license come from? Was it purchased directly from Microsoft, obtained through a retailer, or provided by your organization/school?
    • Are you installing from the Microsoft 365 portal (office.com), an installation package provided by your organization, or a deployment tool such as the Office Deployment Tool (ODT)?
    • Is this a personal computer or a work/school-managed device?

If this is a work or school-managed device, I would recommend contacting your IT administrator, as the Office update channel and installation settings may be controlled by organizational policies.

If this is a personal device, please provide the information above and I'll do my best to help you troubleshoot the issue further.

If there are any updates, please leave a comment so I'll be notified and can continue assisting you within the scope of what I can help with.

Thank you for your time, and I look forward to your reply.
