Use the personal laptop next week and reschedule the exam at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment to avoid forfeiting the exam fee or voucher.
Recommended path:
- Do not use the company-managed laptop for the exam if administrator access is restricted. Work computers often contain software that prevents OnVUE from launching, and the account used for the exam computer should have local administrative permissions.
- On the personal laptop, run the OnVUE system test before rescheduling or before exam day. If the system does not pass, Microsoft recommends taking the exam at a test center instead.
- Reschedule through the Learn profile:
- Sign in to the Learn profile.
- Select Profile from the avatar menu.
- Go to Credentials > Certifications.
- Find the exam appointment and select Reschedule.
- Complete the change on the exam delivery provider’s site.
- If the appointment is within 24 hours and cannot be rescheduled without penalty, contact Pearson VUE support.
Relevant technical details for the personal laptop:
- Prefer a personal computer rather than a work computer.
- Use an account with local administrative permissions.
- Security or antivirus software may need an exception for the OnVUE Secure Browser executable.
- Proxy servers, packet inspection, or strict network security can disrupt online proctored exams.
- If possible, use a hard-wired internet connection.
