    Hi Celia Coates,

I understand your concern about losing the Copilot history you have built up. If you were signed in, your conversation history is associated with your account and should remain accessible when you sign back in with the same account. Before making further changes, please open Copilot in a web browser and check whether your previous conversations appear there.

If Copilot works on the web but not in the app, this will help isolate the problem to the Windows app or its local connection. Please also open the Get Help app, search for Copilot connectivity troubleshooter and follow the prompts to check for firewall or connection blockers.

To help narrow this down further, could you confirm:

    • Whether Copilot works on the web using the same account
    • Whether you use a personal Microsoft account or a work/school account
    • When the problem began
    • Your Windows version and build, which you can check by pressing Windows key + R, entering winver and pressing Enter

Please share the results and I will advise further based on what you find.
