Try these steps in order:
- Use a fresh browser session.
- Sign out of Microsoft accounts.
- Open an InPrivate/Incognito window.
- Start the verification flow again instead of reusing the old tab or bookmarked page.
- Check the school mailbox carefully.
- Look in Junk, Spam, and Promotions folders for the verification email.
- Make sure the school mailbox is active and able to receive mail.
- Try a different browser or device.
- This is recommended when the verification page loops or fails to continue.
- Turn off VPN or proxy temporarily.
- If one is in use, disable it and retry.
- Try a different network.
- Switch between Wi‑Fi and mobile data, or use another Wi‑Fi network.
- If available, try the school network.
- Stop repeated retries for a while.
- Verification systems can temporarily block requests because of unusual activity or too many attempts.
- Wait at least 24 hours before trying again, and if it still fails, wait longer—up to 1 week.
- If the verification email sends a link instead of a code, retry the full application.
- A previously sent verification link may have expired.
- Submit the verification again with accurate information.
If the error has continued for weeks after trying the steps above, the next step is Microsoft Support so the verification attempt and academic domain can be reviewed directly:
- Go to https://support.microsoft.com/home/contact
- Search for: Unable to Verify Student Eligibility for 12‑Month Free Offer
- Select Get Help
- Choose Sign in to contact support and follow the prompts
