Hello Team,
We have identified an issue in Microsoft Excel after upgrading Microsoft Office 2021 to Version 2108 (Build 14334.20906), released on September 8, 2026.
Issue Details
- Ctrl + C / Ctrl + V (Copy-Paste) is not working properly in Excel.
- Copy-Paste between Excel cells/workbooks is affected.
- Formula dragging using the Fill Handle is not working as expected.
- AutoFill functionality is impacted.
- In some cases, users are also unable to cancel the copied-cell selection using the Esc key.
- The issue has been reported across multiple systems, indicating that it may be related to the recent Microsoft update rather than an individual system issue.
- Restarted Excel and the affected systems.
- Performed Office Repair.
- Disabled Excel add-ins.
- Tested with different keyboards.
Important Observation
When we roll back to Version 2108 (Build 14334.20848), the issue is resolved and Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V work normally again. This suggests that the problem may be related to changes introduced in Build 14334.20906.
Workaround
For anyone who wants to roll back to Version 2108 (Build 14334.20848), open Command Prompt as Administrator and run the following command:
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ClickToRun\OfficeC2RClient.exe" /update user updatetoversion=16.0.14334.20848
