Hello Team,

We have identified an issue in Microsoft Excel after upgrading Microsoft Office 2021 to Version 2108 (Build 14334.20906), released on September 8, 2026.

Issue Details

  • Ctrl + C / Ctrl + V (Copy-Paste) is not working properly in Excel.
  • Copy-Paste between Excel cells/workbooks is affected.
  • Formula dragging using the Fill Handle is not working as expected.
  • AutoFill functionality is impacted.
  • In some cases, users are also unable to cancel the copied-cell selection using the Esc key.
  • The issue has been reported across multiple systems, indicating that it may be related to the recent Microsoft update rather than an individual system issue.

Troubleshooting Performed

  • Restarted Excel and the affected systems.
  • Performed Office Repair.
  • Disabled Excel add-ins.
  • Tested with different keyboards.

Important Observation

When we roll back to Version 2108 (Build 14334.20848), the issue is resolved and Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V work normally again. This suggests that the problem may be related to changes introduced in Build 14334.20906.

Workaround

For anyone who wants to roll back to Version 2108 (Build 14334.20848), open Command Prompt as Administrator and run the following command:

"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ClickToRun\OfficeC2RClient.exe" /update user updatetoversion=16.0.14334.20848

Has anyone else experienced this issue after updating to Build 14334.20906? Is there any known workaround, fix, or acknowledgment from Microsoft regarding this behavior?

Thank you.

The Office 2024 LTSC build 17932.20976 has the same clipboard issues.
I posted about it on reddit.

    Hello,

We also have the same problem with Excel on both Office LTSC 2019 and Office LTSC 2021, on 1500 computers.

Rollback is in progress through GPO, respectively to versions 16.0.10417.20197 and 16.0.14334.20806.

Hoping to receive a new version that fix this quite soon.

You broke Office 2016 on all 500 of our desktops!!

You broke Cut and Paste 6 months ago, and now broke it again!

From Last Month's updates I have users with XLS Files that either Crash excel when double clicking or show "file is corrupted".
