You can also run the Bluetooth troubleshooter by going to Start > Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters, then selecting Run next to Bluetooth.

Please check whether another Bluetooth device, such as headphones, can connect to the laptop. In Device Manager, expand Bluetooth and confirm whether the Bluetooth adapter appears normally or shows a warning symbol. This can help determine whether the issue is specific to the mouse or the laptop’s Bluetooth connection.

When you have a chance, please share the exact mouse model and your Windows version. To check the version, press Windows + R, enter winver and select OK.

If the mouse is a Bluetooth Surface or Microsoft mouse, connect it like this:

Make sure the mouse has power.
- Turn it on.
- If it has a pairing light, press and hold the pairing button for 5–7 seconds until the light blinks.
On the laptop, turn on Bluetooth.
- Windows 11: Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices
- Windows 10: Start > Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices
Select Add device or Add Bluetooth or other device > Bluetooth.
Select the mouse from the list, then choose Done.

If it still does not connect:

Check that the mouse battery is good or replace it if the light does not come on.
Turn Airplane mode on for 10–15 seconds, then turn it off.
Turn off other Bluetooth devices connected to the laptop, because too many Bluetooth devices can interfere.
Remove the mouse from the Bluetooth device list and pair it again.
Test the mouse with another PC. If it works there, the issue may be with the laptop.

If the pairing light flashes three times and then turns off, the mouse is already paired to another PC nearby. Remove it from that other PC first, then pair it again with the new laptop.

If the mouse uses a USB wireless receiver instead of Bluetooth, plug the receiver into a USB port, turn the mouse on, and wait a few seconds for Windows to detect it.
