Hello,

I was unable to renew my certifications that were due August 31st 2026.

Is it possible to request a temporary extension of the expiration so that I can renew them with the online assessment?
I apologize for not being able to complete in time.

The renewal period is open for 180 days before your expiry date. The renewal window cannot be extended or reopened. There are no exceptions.

My certification expired. What happens now? If your certification expires, you must earn the certification again by passing the required exam(s).

No. Microsoft certifications can only be renewed by passing the free online renewal assessment on Microsoft Learn during the 180-day eligibility window before expiration. The renewal window cannot be extended, postponed, reopened, or used after the certification has expired.

If the certification has already expired, it can no longer be renewed through the online assessment. The certification must be earned again by passing the required exam(s).

To check renewal eligibility in Microsoft Learn:

Sign in to the Learn profile.
Select the photo avatar and open Profile.
Choose Certifications.
Look for the blue Renew button next to eligible certifications.

For future renewals, the assessment is available only within six months before expiration, and there is no limit to retakes before the certification expires.
