Usually, this error appears if you have blocked 'Microphone access' in your system settings.

Go to Start > Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone.
Ensure -
- Microphone Access
- Let apps access your Microphone toggle is turned on.
- Under that, ensure you have allowed Microphone access for the apps you wish to enable.

If you are still having the issue,
make sure the microphone isn't muted.
- Click Windows + R key, type mmsys.cpl and click ok.
- Select your default microphone device in the Recordings tab and click "Properties".
- In the levels tab, make sure the Microphone isn't muted.

Reinstall Audio drivers.
- Open the Device Manager.
- Expand the arrow next to Sound, Video and game controllers.
- Right-click your default audio driver, Realtek (R) if listed, select Uninstall device, then select the "Attempt to delete the driver software for this device" checkbox, and then click Uninstall.
- After uninstalling, restart your computer and check whether the audio input device is recognized.
